Fatty Bear pop-up ending Nov 22
Hi Fatty Bear friends,
I know this will come as a surprise given FB’s recent return, but I’ve decided to close up shop early at the end of November 🥲
When I first started the Fatty Bear pop-up, I was excited to see what I could do as a solo baker and try out this new endeavour. I’ve had a lot of fun, from making tons of pastries (of course), to collaborating with other bakers, to making the papier mache pastries in the windows 🥐 The enthusiasm from the neighbourhood and beyond has been awesome and I’m so grateful for the reception ❤️
When I reopened this fall, my plan was to be here for the winter/spring again. I really missed baking and seeing everyone and I wanted to give it another go. After a few weeks back with reduced hours, I realized that I’d reached a point where I’d need to invest in more equipment and more hands to keep things going—and for me, it’s not the direction I want to go in right now. I’ve taken it as a far as I can as a solo baker for now, but I’m super grateful for all the lessons and experiences along the way.
So, Saturday, November 22 will be my next and final pop-up (I won’t be open this coming Saturday Nov 15). I hope you’ll come by so I can say thank you in person for all the support and encouragement you’ve shown through this little adventure. It’s meant so much. 🥐💛
This isn’t the end of Fatty Bear forever—just the end of this chapter and this format. I’ll still be baking (and thinking up what comes next!).
